But... a couple of days ago she found out her Mom has breast cancer. She's due to have a mastectomy in a couple weeks.
There's some good news though. If the mastectomy is successful, Mimi's Mom won't have to have radiation or chemotherapy.
Not only that, but if you read Mimi's most recent post, you'll see that she has a very clear and positive outlook on things. Know why? Well, because she's fabulous - which I've already covered - but also because she's a strong lady who knows that that's the way to get through something tough like this.
I hope you will take a minute to click on over to Mimi's blog and let her know that we all have her back, and that we'll be sending tons of prayers and positive energy that way!
Then, check out MacGyver with a Purse! Mimi is a contributor there, along with her friends Jenn and Betsy, and they showcase all things awesome and beautiful.
Right now they have a giveaway going on - inspired by Mimi's Mom! A pink pashmina! I love what Jenn said over there, so I'm just going to quote her...
"Breast cancer is beatable and treatable, and we're going to tell this awful disease to take a hike... and we're doing it in style!!!!"
So head on over if you'd like to get in on the giveaway, and have a chance to spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness!
Love to Mimi and her Mom!!!

8 of the smartest people I know said...:
you are so right about the terrible disease I just shared with my blog readers the pink glove dance which is helping to bring awareness to breast cancer as well
Thank you.
I love you!
I went over to Mimi's blog as you asked. Her and her mother will be in my thoughts and prayers. :)
I'm going over to peak in!
You know you are awesome Diane!
P.S. Your necklace is on it's way since it was for you, it requires some special touch!
I've been through that with my own mom and I can only imagine what she's feeling. I'll be praying. I've been over there to visit and encourage her too. :)
I was over at Mimi's and left her encouragement! I too have been through this with my mom. She is a survivor and doing well! Thanks for letting me know so that I could pray for her.
Hugs
SueAnn
I will go over to her blog right now.
Thanks for the heads-up Diane.
