When I thought about this week's theme I thought, gosh, where do I even start?? And, once I get started, where do I stop???? I love music! And really, it's all therapeutic in it's own way.
So, I just grabbed a few of my youtube faves to share...

I love this song (and video), Existentialism on Prom Night by Straylight Run. Not sure why but it just makes me think of everything that my family has gone through, especially over the past couple of years. How things don't always go how you planned. But that you just keep going, and keep loving each other. Being glad for what you have, loving each other for who they are, and looking ahead. So that's why I chose it for this week's theme, "Dedicate a song to a friend or loved one".
Sing me something soft, Sad and delicate, Or loud and out of key, Sing me anything. We're glad for what we've got, Done with what we've lost Our whole lives laid out right in front of us.

Only one more theme for April - next week (april 26th) the theme is "Musical Therapy".
Feel free to use the theme if you wish, or not. It's totally up to you!
I had a hard time choosing just one song this week. Both of these songs, if I hear them, they are stuck in my head for days!!
Never mind that neither of them are very good songs since, if they were, they'd be quickly ruined by being repeated over and over again in my brain!!!!!

The rest of the themes for April are...
April 19 - Dedicate a song to a friend or loved one April 26 - Musical Therapy
Feel free to use the themes if you wish, or not. It's totally up to you!
For this week's theme - Something Spiritual - I chose this beautiful version of The Beatles' Within You Without You...
We were talking-about the space between us all And the people-who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse the truth-then it's far too late-when they pass away. We were talking-about the love we all could share-when we find it To try our best to hold it there-with our love With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew. Try to realize it's all within yourself No-one else can make you change And to see you're really only very small, And life flows on within you and without you. We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people, Who gain the world and lose their soul- They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find peace of mind, Is waiting there- And the time will come when you see we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you.

We went to see Alice In Wonderland in IMAX 3D this weekend! It was soooo amazing! I'd never been to the IMAX before, so it was a really cool experience.
I did get a little motion sick though lol.
Right after we went to Target and got the Almost Alice cd. Here's Trinity's favorite song on the cd. So favorite that I may have to end up banning it - she's just playing it too much!!

Happy MM! No, this blog is not going to turn into just a MM blog. I've just been taking a much needed hiatus. Thanks to everyone who's checked in on me. I'm ok. :) Very much so actually. Just haven't been in the bloggy mood.
But I do miss everyone and I hope you're all doing fantastic!!
This week, enjoy the sounds of the legendary, the one and only, Queen of Rockabilly - Wanda Jackson!

I've been MIA but haven't forgotten all my wonderful blogging friends. (Hope things get back to normal-ish pretty soon.) I love you all and I hope someone made you feel loved!
This song is apparently on a soundtrack of a movie, or maybe a game, that I know nothing about, called Fallout 3. I don't know lol, all I know is that I love this song!

I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed Oh God it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head
How do you feel? That is the question But I forget you don't expect an easy answer When something like a soul becomes initialized And folded up like paper dolls and little notes You can't expect a bit of folks
So while you're outside looking in Describing what you see Remember what you're staring at is me
How much is real? So much to question An epidemic of the mannequins, contaminating everything We thought it came from the heart But never did right from the start Just listen to the noises Null and void instead of voices
'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed All I know is that it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head
And it's the stars The stars that shine for you And it's the stars The stars that lie to you
A lot has happened to me this past week, which is why I haven't been blogging much. I've just been processing everything. Nothing bad, really - more like an epiphany. I'm slowly beginning to work it all out and let some ideas settle in my head. Sorry to be so cryptic; I'll share as I can.

Remember, this is the last week to join in for a chance to win the $15 ITunes/Amazon Gift Card in honor of Musical Monday's one year anniversary!
It's officially been one year since Jori and I teamed up to do Musical Monday. I miss Jori so much but I know she's enjoying every moment with her beautiful family, and I'm honored that she felt I was capable to handle it on my own and to still be doing this each week. I've made many new friends and discovered some great music, which is something I truly love!
To commemorate Musical Monday's one year anniversary I'm doing a giveaway - a $15 ITunes card or Amazon.com gift certificate (your choice) so you can grab yourself some new tunes!
All you have to do to be in the drawing is play along this week and/or next week - January 25th and February 1st. (If you play both weeks your name goes in the hat twice, and doubles your chance of winning.)
And if you help spread the word by mentioning the giveaway in your MM post, I'll throw your name in an additional five times (each week)!
I'll announce the winner in February 8th's MM post!
Easy enough, right?
For this week I wanted to share this little gem I found on YouTube! Check out this guy's amazing talent! It's just him, doing all of the acappella and a guy doing beatbox. I just loved it when I saw it!!! What do you think? Pretty cool, huh?!

My thoughts, prayers and positive energies go out to the people of Haiti. And to the brave and compassionate who are there assisting.
But I'm also not forgetting those who can't, even at a time like this, seem to let go of their own personal, political and religious beliefs enough to muster up even an ounce of altruism. They may need it the very most.
There but for the grace of God go I.
From my favorite show, Glee - Imagine by John Lennon.
One race - Humankind.
One religion - Love.

Next week - Musical Monday's one year anniversary!
They cover a little bit of everything - from Nirvana to Kansas. I found them the other day looking for Veruca Salt's Volcano Girls and couldn't wait to post them on MM!!
My "I'm-not-gonna-sit-around-and-just-hope-it-happens-anymore" song.
Even if I have to listen to it e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y.
I believe in immediacy, I'll say that immediately No need to mediate me, impede expediency Everyone makes history, looks back on it wistfully Fuck all that misery, gotta maintain my mystery
I believe in immediacy, I believe that immediately Need to feed my deviancy, If I'm really gonna make history Not gonna go peacefully, dig deep to indignity Achieve indecency, kiss my mischief blissfully

Go ahead! There's music to be heard and friends to be made!
The most peaceful feeling I can possibly experience I've found in the music of the Indigo Girls. I've blogged about them before. And I'll probably blog about them again. Possibly my all-time favorite, at least in the Folk category.
I've been listening to them since around '86. I was lucky enough to be living in the same area as them and caught them a few times when they were just getting started.
How amazing is it that these two people, in such a big, big world met? They seem to have been born to make music together. I'm not sure if a more perfect harmony exists.
I always seem to go back to them, even if I haven't listened to anything of theirs in a year or two. Always when I need that really peaceful feeling...
Too many good songs to pick from, but here's a favorite...

Just a handful of days left! Are you ready? Ready for it to be over? lol I kinda am, to tell you the truth.
Lack of anything positive to say has kept me from blogging this week. Just didn't want to spread my Holiday Un-Cheer. Although I tried really hard to pump myself up for the Holidays this year it just didn't happen. It's been a tough year, and at this point I'm just trying to look ahead to 2010 in hopes that it will be better.
But, since it's not quite over yet, here's some Christmas fun... Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight) by The Ramones.
